MANILA, Philippines — Around 60 families lost their homes in a two-hour fire in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
Fire officials said the blaze destroyed around 30 houses along Masaya street in Barangay Old Capital Site.
The blaze, which started shortly after 4 a.m., was caused by an unattended candle in a two-story house made of light materials.
The fire reached second alarm but was put out at around 5:54 a.m. with no reported fatalities or injuries.
The blaze caused an estimated P150,000 in structural damages.
