BI nabs convicted pedophile, Chinese illegal workers
MANILA, Philippines — A convicted pedophile from New Zealand has been arrested in Bukidnon.
In his report to Bureau of Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, acting BI intelligence division chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. identified the pedophile as Alan James Linton.
Manahan said Linton was arrested at his residence in Valencia City on Aug. 23 based on a mission order from Morente.
The BI said the New Zealand police informed the bureau of the presence of Linton, who was convicted of two counts of child exploitation in his country.
In Samar, Chinese citizens Wu Zhijie, 26, and Wu Jiajiang, 51, were arrested in Catablogan City for selling retail goods without work permits.
The foreigners are being held at the BI detention facility in Bicutan for deportation proceedings. – Evelyn Macairan
