Korean Navy ships in Manila for 3-day visit

Michael Punongbayan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines —  Two Navy ships of South Korea will arrive in Manila today for a three-day goodwill visit.

The Munmo The Great (DDH-II) and the Hwacheon (AOE) will dock at South Harbor’s Pier 15 until Sept. 4.

The Philippine Navy recently acquired its first ever corvette, the BRP Conrado Yap, from South Korea.

The corvette was commissioned into the Philippine Navy after Defense Assistant Secretary for Logistics and Acquisition Jesus Rey Avilla signed the transfer documents with his South Korean counterpart Kim Soo Sam last month.
