Teacher faces raps for molesting boy, 9

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines  —  A male public school teacher has been charged on Wednesday for alleged sexual abuse of a boy in Barangay San Fabian, Echague, Isabela.

Maj. Andy Orilla, Echague police chief, said the suspect, a neighbor of the victim, 9, posted bail of P120,000 recommended by Regional Trial Court Judge Bonifacio Ong.

The victim claimed the teacher forced him to perform sexual acts several times last year.

The Department of Education has yet to file administrative charges against the suspect.
