Cop loses gun, cash to robber

MANILA, Philippines — A policeman lost his service firearm and cash to an Akyat Bahay gang member who broke into his rented apartment in Lower Bicutan, Taguig City on Saturday.

Cpl. Mark-Hil Estrada, 27, assigned with the National Capital Region Police Office, was robbed of his loaded 9mm pistol and P1,140 in cash.

Probers said the burglar entered the house by destroying the door’s padlock.

Police said Estrada and his colleauge, Cpl. Ann-Ann Tawataw, were sleeping when the break-in happened.

Estrada ran after the suspect, John Benigno Barcelon, 23, but failed to capture him.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
