Husband of Bong Revilla’s niece held for guns
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — The husband of a niece of senator-elect Ramon “Bong” Revilla was arrested yesterday for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Brig. Gen. Edward Carranza, Calabarzon police director, said an unlicensed gun of unknown caliber was found during a visual search in the Toyota Innova that lawyer Manuel Moyco was driving when pulled over at a checkpoint along Tamzui Avenue in Barangay Bayan Luma 2, Imus City, Cavite.
S/Msgt. Jimmy Narag said a 9mm pistol, a caliber .38 revolver, two machine pistols, a caliber .45 and various types of ammunition were recovered when they inspected the vehicle.
Carranza said Moyco claimed the guns belong to his friends and offered P1 million to the police officers, but his men rejected it.
Police said Moyco’s wife Marian Bautista arrived at the police station and introduced herself as Revilla’s niece.
