Man, son hurt in road rage shooting

MANILA, Philippines — A Grab driver and his son were wounded in a road rage shooting in Las Piñas City on Wednesday.
Marlou Baisa, 53, and his son Justine, 24, have been confined at the University of Perpetual Help Dalta Medical Center for gunshot wounds in Marlou’s stomach and Justine’s thigh.
Marlou was reported to be in critical condition.
Police have launched a manhunt for Akmad Abubakar, 38, caretaker of a water delivery business.
The Mitsubishi Adventure driven by Marlou and the delivery tricycle driven by Abubakar collided along Doña Manuela Avenue in Doña Manuela Subdivision in Barangay Pamplona Tres at around 3:45 p.m., police reported.
The Baisas and Abubakar figured in an argument that led to the Baisas grabbing bottles from their car, city police chief Col. Simnar Gran said in a radio interview yesterday.
Abubakar, armed with a 9mm pistol, then shot the two men, Gran said, adding that police officers are talking to Abubakar’s family to convince him to surrender.
