Chinese gets life for selling P3-M shabu

MANILA, Philippines — A Makati court has sentenced a Chinese man to life imprisonment for selling 2.8 kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu in 2018.

In a five-page decision, Judge Selma Palacio Alaras of the Makati Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 63 found Shi Jian Jia guilty of selling illegal drugs.

Alaras also ordered Shi to pay a fine of P500,000.

Jia was arrested in drug sting in March 2018 after he allegedly sold the shabu, with a street value of P3 million, to police officers who posed as buyers.

Shortly after the sting, police conducted an operation in Muntinlupa City, where they recovered P5,000 worth of shabu at a clandestine laboratory where Shi allegedly sourced his supply.
