MANILA, Philippines — A former bank manager in Pasig City was arrested for allegedly stealing P2.1 million from a Japanese client on Thursday.

Andrew Pano, alias Drew, 45, was nabbed at his house in Barangay San Isidro in Cainta, Rizal at around 4:30 p.m.

Brig. Gen. Christopher Tambungan, director of the Eastern Police District, said Pano’s arrest stemmed from a warrant for qualified theft issued by Judge Rowena de Juan-Quinagoran of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 166.

No bail was recommended for Pano’s temporary freedom.

The suspect was accused of stealing P2.1 million in insurance premium from Lourdes Takabayashi in 2013.
