MANILA, Philippines — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has named Col. William Ilagan as new commander for Camp Aguinaldo, the military’s main headquarters in Quezon City.
Ilagan replaced Brig. Gen. Dominic Pulido, who retired from the service on April 5.
Ilagan is responsible for maintaining security around Camp Aguinaldo, which houses the Department of National Defense (DND) and the AFP general headquarters.
“The role of camp commander comes with vital tasks, such as ensuring the security of the DND complex and the general headquarters where the Command Group operates,” AFP chief Gen. Benjamin Madrigal Jr. said during the change of command.
Ilagan was former chief of the Army housing office.
He also headed the AFP Real Estate Office, Architectural and Engineering Division of the Office of the Chief Engineer and the 564th Engineering Construction Battalion.
Pulido was cited for implementing infrastructure projects at Camp Aguinaldo during his term, including the renovation of the AFP Grandstand.
