500 Pangasinan farmers receive land titles

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently awarded land titles to around 500 farmers in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

DAR Secretary John Castriciones said the land titles cover around 700 hectares of farm lots in Urdaneta City and the towns of Agno, Anda, Bani, Bolinao, Bugallon, Burgos, Dasol, Infanta, Mabini and Malasiqui.

Castriciones said they also lined up holistic support services to the beneficiaries, including housing projects, scholarships for their children, financial assistance under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and crop insurance.

 The beneficiaries will also receive training on swine fattening, goat raising and palay production, among other livelihood opportunities, under the Convergence on Livelihood Assistance for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries project.
