Drug war: 6 dead in Bulacan, Laguna

MANILA, Philippines — Three alleged drug pushers were killed in police operations in Bulacan on Wednesday. Three others were slain in Laguna in the past two days.

Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said Ryan Daquiz, alias Ulo, was killed in a shootout with anti-drug operatives in Barangay Tibag, Pulilan.

Bersaluna said Novem Jornales and an alias Bukol were slain in a sting in Barangay Bulihan in Plaridel.

Police said Emerson Lacson and Joseph Jones were killed in drug busts in Barangay Santisima Cruz in Sta. Cruz and Canlalay, Biñan, respectively, in Laguna.

Senior Superintendent Eleazar Matta, Laguna police director, said Ronnie Caagbay, 35, opened fire at law enforcers serving a search warrant at his house in Barangay Parian, Calamba.

Police said Lacson was also tagged in robberies in Sta. Cruz while Jones and Caagbay were on the drug watchlist in their areas.

Guns,  sachets of shabu and marked money were reportedly recovered from the fatalities.   –Non Alquitran, Ed Amoroso, Ramon Efren Lazaro
