MMDA, Sesame Workshop to join forces

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will partner with Sesame Workshop to educate children on road safety, public safety and solid waste management.

MMDA chairman Danilo Lim teased his 200,000 followers on Facebook on Friday with a photo of Sesame Street characters riding a jeepney below the logos of the two organizations.

“Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?” Lim captioned the photo, citing lyrics from the theme song of the popular educational children’s television series in the United States.

The MMDA has yet to provide details on the photo.

Information obtained by The STAR, however, stated that the MMDA will launch its three-year partnership with Sesame Workshop tomorrow.

“Under this partnership, (the MMDA and Sesame Workshop) will be doing activities like fun run, arts wall and there will also be somewhat like an experimental museum, which will be held in different venues,” a source said.
