ILIGAN CITY, Philippines — A former agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was gunned down in Barangay Tubod in this city on Friday.
Police said Sam Asim had just emerged from a mosque at about 1 p.m. when an unidentified man shot him in the head. The victim died at the scene.
Asim was a former driver of NBI-Iligan office chief Alex Caburnay.
Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
