Supreme Court names new public information office chief
MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court (SC) has named the new head of its public information office (PIO) to replace lawyer Theodore Te.
Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin yesterday said he designated lawyer Brian Keith Hosaka as the new chief of SC PIO with the rank of assistant court administrator.
Bersamin said Hosaka served in the SC under retired justice Josue Bellosillo.
The Chief Justice, however, clarified that Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez will continue to be the SC spokesperson and will closely coordinate with Hosaka, who is expected to eventually replace Marquez as court spokesperson.
Marquez, who was initially designated by Bersamin as acting chief of the SC PIO, and Hosaka worked together as law clerks in the office of Bellosillo.
Prior to his designation, Hosaka was a founding partner of the Paner Hosaka & Ypil Attorneys-at-Law. An Ateneo Law School alumnus, he also served as deputy general counsel of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
