Bacolod business permits registration surges in 2018

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Business permits registration in Bacolod reached an all-time high of 23,187 in 2018 – an increase of 23.2 percent or 4,370 new businesses – compared to 2016, according to the records of the municipal government.

“This is a solid indicator that we have restored business confidence. Even the business world has taken notice of the business environment we have created as the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry listed us among the most business-friendly cities in the country,” Mayor Evelio Leonardia said.

He said the National Competitiveness Council also recognized Bacolod as the  most competitive city in the Visayas.

“It is now our intention to attract more investments and sustain this growth momentum,” Leonardia said.

The city government received other awards from prestigious organizations in 2017 and 2018.

Leonardia has vowed to restore confidence and improve the business climate in the city during his term.
