2 dead in drug war

MANILA, Philippines — Two more drug suspects have been killed in police operations in Bulacan and Laguna.

Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said Raymund de la Cruz shot it out with law enforcers in a drug bust in Barangay Sto. Niño, Paombong on Thursday.

Police said a .22-caliber revolver, a sachet of shabu, two sachets of dried marijuana leaves, marked money and a motorcycle were recovered from the fatality.

“High-value” target Jeremy Villegas, alias Jengjeng, was killed in a drug sting in Barangay Concepcion, Lumban, Laguna yesterday.

Villegas yielded a caliber .45 pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun and 50 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P200,000, Senior Superintendent Eleazar Matta, Laguna police director, said.

Matta said Villegas, who was a member of the Paperana criminal gang operating in Laguna, wounded Senior Police Officer 1  Jerome Garcia in an anti-drug operation in Lumban last Oct. 10.
