"The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta said it has filed a missing person report for Ella Balmaceda Paaño after her family in the Philippines reported losing contact with her since 25 December," the Department of Foreign Affairs said.

MANILA, Philippines — The family of a Filipino tourist who has been missing in Bali, Indonesia asked the Department of Foreign Affairs to help look for her.

Ella Balmaceda Paaño, 25, left for Bali on Dec. 22, 2018 and was supposed to return to the Philippines on Dec. 28, 2018 but her family has had no contact with her.

The DFA had requested the assistance of Indonesian authorities in locating Paaño, a resort worker in Coron, Palawan.

"The department said any information on Paaño’s whereabouts can be relayed to her family at +639081427763 or +639125788021," the DFA said in a statement.

Paaño's sisters went to Manila from Camarines Sur to personally ask the DFA for assistance in finding her. Her mobile phone cannot be contacted and her last Facebook post was on Dec. 24, 2018.
