Mother, 3 kids survive knife attack in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY – A mother was seriously wounded while protecting her three children in a knife attack by her neighbor who barged into their house in Barangay Centro 3, Claveria, Cagayan on Thursday. 

Imelda Fernandez suffered stab wounds in the back and arms as she covered her children from Lito Carillo’s assault.

The police said Carillo attempted to kill Fernandez and her children to get even with her husband, whom Carillo accused of having an affair with his wife.

Fernandez kicked Carillo in the groin.

Fernandez was rushed to Northern Cagayan District Hospital for treatment while Carillo was handed over to responding police officers.
