Tropical Depression Samuel to continue to bring rains — PAGASA

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Samuel left the country’s landmass yesterday afternoon after dumping rains over the Visayas and Mindanao.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Samuel was located 65 kilometers south-southeast of Cuyo, Palawan as of 5 p.m. yesterday.

Samuel is forecast at 255 kms west-northwest of Puerto Princesa at 2 p.m. today and is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility tonight or tomorrow morning.

PAGASA said moderate to heavy rains, which might trigger flooding and landslides, are still expected over Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Western Visayas, Aurora, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Catanduanes.

As of 5 p.m. yesterday, tropical cyclone warning signal 1 was still up over Romblon, southern parts of Occidental Mindoro and Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Guimaras, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan and Antique.

Metro Manila and Central Luzon will continue to experience light to moderate rains today.
