No drug surrenderees in 3 Bulacan towns
MALOLOS, Philippines — No drug personalities surrendered in the last three months in three municipalities in Bulacan.
The province posted a total of 205 surrenderees from Aug. 1 to Nov. 12 this year.
Reports from the provincial police office showed the police stations in Calumpit, Doña Remedios Trinidad and Pandi recorded no drug surenderees within the period.
The top three police stations with the highest number of surrenderees are San Jose del Monte with 61, Meycauayan, 47, and Baliwag, 22.
The others are Santa Maria, 12; Balagtas, nine; Paombong, eight; Marilao, six; Bocaue, Guiguinto, Hagonoy and San Ildefonso with five each; Obando four; Bulakan, Bustos and San Rafael with three each; Pulilan , two, and one each in Angat, Norzagaray, Plaridel and San Miguel as well as in the city of Malolos.
Meanwhile, in Laguna, an alleged major drug trafficker was killed in an encounter in Calamba on Monday.
The suspect, identified as Omar Arip Badon, reportedly resisted arrest and shot the officers during a sting in Barangay Pansol.
The suspect reportedly sold P400,000 worth of shabu to undercover agents.
Badon’s death is expected to reduce the supply of illegal drugs in the province, according to Senior Superintendent Eleazar Matta, Laguna police chief. – Ed Amoroso, Non Alquitran
