MANILA, Philippines — A policeman who shot dead his colleague allegedly over a love triangle at a police camp in Taguig City on Saturday would be dismissed from the service, an official said yesterday.

Police Office 1 Carlos Alberto Aljama, 31, is undergoing a pre-charge investigation for grave misconduct, according to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Guillermo Eleazar.

“The pre-charge hearing aims to find probable cause against Aljama. I’m pretty sure he would be dismissed from the police force,” Eleazar said in an interview.

He ordered the Taguig police to file a complaint for murder against Aljama for killing PO1 Mark Carlo Pasamba, 29, assigned with the Fourth Mobile Force Company.

Aljama is being held at the Taguig police detention cell.

Initial investigation showed that Aljama confronted Pasamba and fired at him.

Aljama’s motive was supposedly an affair between Pasamba and his wife, who is also assigned at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig with the rank of Police Officer 1.

Pasamba died from three gunshots to the body.
