Actress Keanna Reeves arrested for cyberlibel
MANILA, Philippines — Sexy actress Keanna Reeves was arrested yesterday for cyberlibel by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Quezon City.
The 49-year-old Reeves, whose real name is Janet Direcho Duterte, was nabbed at her condominium unit at the corner of Timog Avenue and Scout Ybardolaza street in Barangay South Triangle at around 12:45 p.m.
Chief Inspector Zyrus Serrano, who heads the CIDG Laguna field office, said they served a warrant for Reeves’ arrest for violating Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
Police said the arrest of the actress stemmed from the complaint of businesswoman Nancy Dimaranan, who accused Reeves of besmirching her reputation in a series of Facebook posts in July.
The court set a P20,000 bail for Reeves’ temporary liberty.
