MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada yesterday ordered the arrest of a barangay chairman and five councilmen for beating a 16-year-old student.
Estrada said Felipe Falcon Jr., chairman of Barangay 350 in Tondo should be removed from his post.
The victim’s family filed charges of serious physical injuries against Falcon.
Estrada instructed the city legal office to extend assistance to the Grade 9 student who was taken to the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
