Reds kill militiaman in Agusan del Norte

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines  —   A militiaman, who was also a member of the Higaonon tribe, was gunned down by suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte on Tuesday. 

Roldan Mansamahan, 27, was driving home on his motorcycle with his wife after buying food when he was shot in Barangay Guinabsan, according to a report received by the Buenavista police.

Mansamahan’s father was also reportedly killed by suspected NPA guerrillas in 2007.
