Magnitude 4.2 quake rocks Batanes

BASCO, Batanes, Philippines –  A magnitude 4.2 earthquake jolted this province at around  6:11 a.m. yesterday.

Roxanne Blacer of the Philippine Institute of  Volcanology and Seismology office here said the quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 34 kilometers.

The epicenter of the tremor was located 11 kms southeast of Uyugan town.
