MANILA, Philippines — A fire destroyed 15 houses in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City on Friday night, displacing 50 families.

The families are staying at the barangay hall and a nearby covered court, according to Senior Inspector Wilson Tana, investigation chief of the city’s fire department.

The fire started at around 6:55 p.m. and reached the third alarm at around 7:18 p.m., a report from the fire department stated.

The fire broke out at the second floor of a house occupied by Bekbek Mabansag, 60. She was later reported missing, Tana said.

Fire investigators, who pegged the property damage at P150,000, are eyeing faulty wiring as the cause of the blaze.
