Sister Patricia Fox seeks to renew missionary visa

Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Despite being issued a deportation order, the camp of Australian nun Sister Patricia Anne Fox yesterday submitted a petition asking the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to renew her missionary visa, which is set to expire on Sept. 5.

In a statement, the camp of the 72-year-old Australian nun, who is the provincial superior of the Our Lady of Sion Sisters, submitted to the BI the petition asking that the bureau renew her missionary visa. She has been a missionary in the country for 27 years.

“Sr. Pat hopes that the Central Receiving Unit (CRU) of the BI accepts her petition even if there is a pending deportation order against her. Said order is not yet final and executory as a motion for reconsideration has been filed on this,” Fox’s camp said.

They said the CRU also has the duty to transmit it to the BI’s board of commissioners.
