MANILA, Philippines — The Manila city government will be constructing its second columbarium, placing it at the Manila South cemetery this time, Mayor Joseph Estrada said yesterday.

In a telephone interview with The STAR, Estrada said: “We are polishing the plans for the construction… I am polishing this thoroughly and the City Council resolution is now underway,” Estrada said.

He added that the new columbarium would have 150 to 200 apartments in a three-story structure.

“The budget needed for the Manila South cemetery columbarium will be from P8 million to P10 million,” he said.
