6 Makati loiterers held for drugs

MANILA, Philippines — Six persons arrested in Makati City since Tuesday night for violating city ordinances were reportedly found to be carrying illegal drugs.

Among those arrested was John Mark Bristol for smoking along Milkweed street in Barangay Rizal. He allegedly threw away a sachet of marijuana, which was recovered, as he was being taken to the barangay hall for documentation, police said.

Julius Jonathan Reyes, 20, and Michael Charles Dacula, 21, were also arrested for smoking along Alejandro and Apolinario streets in Barangay Bangkal, police said, adding that each of them allegedly yielded a sachet of marijuana.

 Bayani dela Cruz, 55, was arrested for urinating along Bernardino street in Barangay Guadalupe Viejo and was allegedly found to be carrying two sachets of shabu.

 A 14-year-old boy was arrested for illegal gambling in Barangay West Rembo. Police reportedly found a sachet of shabu on his person. 

A 23-year-old man arrested for robbery was also allegedly found to be carrying a sachet of shabu. 

In Manila, Josephine Gomez was arrested for violating the smoking ban by smoking in a jeepney along Rizal Avenue on Tuesday. She allegedly yielded a sachet of shabu.

In Quezon City, at least 10 drug suspects were arrested in separate operations in the past two days.

Among those arrested were alleged pushers Alexander Martinez, 34; his wife, Aida Martinez, 47; and Boyet Miras, 40, in a sting in Barangay Sauyo at around 7:40 p.m.

Police seized P34,000 worth of shabu, a .38 caliber revolver and bullets from the suspects.

Six more persons were arrested in drug stings in Caloocan, Navotas and Valenzuela since Tuesday. – With Marc Jayson Cayabyab, Romina Cabrera
