MANILA, Philippines — The remains of a Filipino financial analyst who was beaten to death in Slovakia last month will arrive in Manila today, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said yesterday.
The body of Henry John Acorda was flown from Bratislava on board a Slovak government plane that is expected to arrive in the country at around 11 a.m., the DFA said.
Ambassador to Vienna Ma. Cleofe Natividad is expected to accompany the remains and Acorda’s mother and two siblings.
Acorda, 36, died on May 31 from injuries he sustained on May 26 when he tried to defend a Filipina companion from being harassed.
A 28-year-old local man is in jail after being charged with manslaughter.
