Fires hit warehouse, bank in QC

MANILA, Philippines — Fires broke out at a warehouse and a bank in Quezon City since Sunday night.

The fire started at a furniture warehouse along Kundiman street in Barangay Paltok at around 1:30 a.m. and reached third alarm before it was put out.

At around 10:24 p.m. Sunday, a fire broke out at a United Coconut Planters Bank branch along Katipunan Avenue in Barangay Blue Ridge A.

City fire marshal Senior Superintendent Manuel Manuel said the fire started at the back of the bank near the cash vault. The fire was put out at around 11:07 p.m. and caused around P20,000 in damages.

Manuel said the cause of the bank fire is still under investigation and no casualties were reported.
