Drug, rob suspects slain in Manila shootouts

MANILA, Philippines — A suspected robber and an alleged drug pusher were killed in separate encounters with Manila police Friday night.

Bryan Tolentino was killed for allegedly fighting back during a sting in Barangay 826 Friday night, according to a report from the station.

Police also arrested three others in the house used as a drug den – Joffre Navalta, Babette dela Peña and a 16-year-old boy.

Police recovered a loaded .38 caliber revolver, nine sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.

A still unidentified robbery suspect was killed in an encounter with police after he robbed a meat shop of P4,000 in Sampaloc, Manila Friday night. He was allegedly armed with a .38 caliber revolver.
