MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) destroyed yesterday more than 50 stalls obstructing traffic along M. dela Fuente Street in Manila.

Bong Nebrija, supervising operations officer of the MMDA, said the stalls of vendors were obstructing the flow of traffic in the area.

Nebrija said they asked the cooperation of barangay officials to ensure that the vendors would not to return to the area.

MMDA personnel also towed 19 vehicles along España Boulevard for illegal parking.

Nebrija said they apprehended 70 vendors and issued traffic citation tickets to 51 motorists during the clearing operations.
