Edith Regalado - The Philippine Star

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — President Duterte led the opening of the P345-million Davao River Bridge widening project along the Diversion Road here last Thursday.

The widened bridge, which is now six lanes, is expected to ease traffic congestion in the city and improve movement of goods and services.

“Today’s inauguration of the new and improved Davao River Bridge symbolizes this administration’s commitment to usher in an era of rapid infrastructure development,” the President said.

The President added that aside from the bridge being widened from four to six lanes, it is now made of much better and more durable materials as well as equipped with various installations and markers for the safety and convenience of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
