Hotdogs, eggs down 72 Aetas
CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga, Philippines — Seventy-two Aetas including 41 children were rushed to a hospital after they ate food served during a feeding program in Porac town in this province on Saturday.
Community leader Rica Torres said the victims suffered abdominal pains, dizziness and nausea after eating hotdogs and eggs served during breakfast by a private company.
Torres helped attend to the victims at the Porac District Hospital in Barangay Babo Sakan.
“Most of them were allowed to go home the following day,” Torres said.
As of yesterday, four children aged five to 10 and an 80-year-old woman named Liway Sibal remained in the hospital as they were still suffering from diarrhea and abdominal pains.
The company that sponsored the feeding program gave the victims P500 each in financial assistance.
