MANILA, Philippines — Seven members of a family, including a 15-year-old girl, were arrested Thursday night for allegedly running an illegal drug and gun-for-hire operation in Tondo, Manila.

Officers from the Manila Police District Station 7’s drug enforcement unit and the Tayuman community precinct, led by Superintendent Gerry Corpuz, raided a house in Interior 44, Laong Nasa street after an operative who posed as a buyer bought a sachet of shabu from one of the house’s occupants at around 6 p.m.

Danilo Manansala, 40; Virgilio Magno, 34; Carlo Magno, 36; Rosanna Odayat, 32; Jelly Ann Nedroda, 24; Jayson Odayat, 36, and the 15-year-old girl were arrested in a follow-up operation.

All of those arrested, except for Jayson and the girl, are in the police drug watchlist.

Lawmen seized 56.4 grams of shabu with a street value of P282,000, assorted drug paraphernalia, a weighing scale, P2,000 marked money and a .45 caliber pistol from the suspects.

Corpuz said the “Magno Group” is reportedly the biggest drug supplier in the area and its members were also engaged as contract killers.

Another family arrested

In Valenzuela, a family of four and four others were arrested during a raid on Rafael Camua Sr.’s house Thursday night. Police found 41 sachets of shabu and dried marijuana leaves.

Among those arrested were Rafael Jr., Raph Camua, Romerico Camua, Ruby Cruz, Jarvis Go, Joseph Cabodol Jr., and Jack Daniel Henson.

The suspects reportedly used the elder Camua’s house as a drug den and allowed students to use shabu at a discount, said Senior Superintendent Ronaldo Mendoza, city police chief.
