Drug war: P.8 million shabu seized, 16 nabbed
MANILA, Philippines — Police confiscated around P800,000 worth of shabu and arrested 16 drug suspects in separate operations over the weekend.
In Quezon City, Russel Ferraro, 48, and Gary Baking, 38, were nabbed for alleged possession of 13 sachets of shabu in a sting along Luzon Avenue in Barangay Pasong Tamo.
Probers said they were able to buy P13,000 worth of shabu from Ferraro and Baking prior to their arrest.
The suspects allegedly yielded 160 more grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P800,000.
Members of the Talipapa police collared six drug suspects after they were allegedly caught engaged in a pot session along Kalye Onse in Barangay Culiat.
They were Jojo Salazar, 37; Trixie Cilantang, 26; Maylyn Sicat, 37; Michelle Sasis, 27; Baby Grace Sandrino, 27, and Jeanne Gucela, 40, all of Barangay Old Balara.
Five other drug suspects were apprehended in Barangays Unang Sigaw, Kaligayahan, Pasong Putik and Pasong Tamo.
Marin Morgado; Michael Capispisan, 39; Jomar Oliveros, 30; Apple Magsalin, 23, and Jonel Renomeron, 18, are being held by police on drug charges.
In Marikina, three suspected drug pushers: Kenneth Escanilla, Alex Macapagal and Amirodin Quizon were nabbed by anti-narcotics agents in Barangay Tumana.
City police chief Senior Superintendent Roger Quesada said the suspects were on the drug watchlist. – Non Alquitran
