Cop arrested for gambling in casino
MANILA, Philippines — A police officer was arrested after he was caught gambling at a casino in Parañaque City on Tuesday night.
Supt. Adrian Antonio, 35, of Camp Crame in Quezon City, was nabbed while gambling at the City of Dreams Resort and Casino at around 10:55 p.m.
Police said Antonio figured in an altercation with another casino player, who demanded payment for his P150,000 debt.
Authorities said Antonio was seen playing Baccarat on closed-circuit television footage inside the pit arena of the establishment.
Charges of disobedience in violation of Article 231 of the Revised Penal Code, Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, violation of Presidential Decree 1067B and Memorandum Circular 06-2016 issued by President Duterte, banning government personnel from playing at casinos, will be filed against Antonio before the city prosecutor’s office.
