MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) suspended its operations yesterday for maintenance work until Sunday.

Aly Narvaez, media relations officer of the MRT-3, said 15 operational trains would be deployed on Monday to reduce the long lines of commuters at the stations.

“Hopefully, with 15 trains at peak hours, the waiting time for a train’s arrival would be around four to five minutes,” Narvaez said.

The MRT-3 will resume operations on April 2.

Narvaez said representatives of the Australian Agency for International Development and Asian Development Bank joined experts of the MRT-3 during the inspection yesterday.
