April 2 a holiday in Bulacan

MALOLOS, Philippines — It will be a longer weekend for residents of Bulacan as April 2, which falls on a Monday, is a special non-working holiday in the province.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea signed Proclamation 454 declaring the holiday to give residents “full opportunity to celebrate with appropriate ceremonies” the birth anniversary of poet and orator Francisco “Balagtas” Baltazar.

The municipal government of Balagtas has lined up several activities for the holiday.
