MANILA, Philippines — Former Ilocos Norte congressman Roque Ablan Jr. died yesterday morning. He was 85.
“My dad passed away peacefully this morning. Lucky to be at his bedside when he died,” Kris, Ablan’s son and presidential communications assistant secretary, said in a post on Facebook.
Ablan represented the first district of Ilocos Norte from 1968 to 1998 and from 2001 to 2010. He was a known ally of the late president Ferdinand Marcos.
The family has yet to disclose the details of his wake.
