4 cops, soldier arrested for online cockfighting

MANILA, Philippines — At least 149 persons, including four police officers, a soldier and five local government employees, were arrested for online cockfighting in Bulacan on Friday.

Police Officer 3 Nolasco Juan, who is assigned at Camp Olivas, PO1 Jestoni Fuentebella of the Police Mobile Force Company in Bulacan, PO1 Jeffrey Mateo of the Angat police, PO1 Emmanuel Leonardo and Pfc. Enrique Quinaquin Jr. of the Army were collared during a raid on a restaurant in Baliwag.

The government employees were not identified in the report of the  Counter Intelligence Task Force (CITF) headed by Senior Superintendent Jose Chiquito Malayo.

CITF spokesman Chief Inspector Jewel Nicanor said operatives of the CITF and Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) conducted the raid based on a warrant issued by a local court.

Nicanor said the owner of the restaurant identified as Enecito Payapaya is under the custody of ACG personnel.
