French ship arriving in Manila today

The French Navy Ship Vendemiaire (F734), with one helicopter, onboard arrive at Pier 15, South Harbor, Manila yesterday for a goodwill visit to the Philippines from March 12 to 16, 2018. FNS Vendemiaire is under the command of Commander Alexander Blonce. The vessel is a Floréal-class light surveillance frigate of the French Marine Nationale.

MANILA, Philippines — The French Navy frigate Vendemiaire, with a helicopter on board, will arrive in Manila today for a five-day goodwill visit.

Capt. Lued Lincuna, chief of the Philippine Navy Public Affairs Office, said the ship would be at South Harbor’s Pier 15 until March 16.

Lincuna said the Vendemiaire, a light surveillance frigate of the French Navy, is under the command of Commander Alexander Blonce.

Philippine Navy officials will welcome the visiting vessel. This will be followed by a briefing on security and health aboard the frigate, according to Lincuna.

The visit is expected to improve relations between the Philippine and French navies,  as well as build camaraderie among its men and women.
