MANILA, Philippines — The French Navy frigate Vendemiaire, with a helicopter on board, will arrive in Manila today for a five-day goodwill visit.
Capt. Lued Lincuna, chief of the Philippine Navy Public Affairs Office, said the ship would be at South Harbor’s Pier 15 until March 16.
Lincuna said the Vendemiaire, a light surveillance frigate of the French Navy, is under the command of Commander Alexander Blonce.
Philippine Navy officials will welcome the visiting vessel. This will be followed by a briefing on security and health aboard the frigate, according to Lincuna.
The visit is expected to improve relations between the Philippine and French navies, as well as build camaraderie among its men and women.
