ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Two police superintendents on President Duterte’s list of drug personalities have been dismissed from the service.

Superintendent Ipil Dueñas of the Iloilo City police intelligence section is facing charges for conduct unbecoming of a police officer and Supt. Roderick Condag, commander of the Iloilo Provincial Public Safety Company, for incompetence and gross neglect of duty.

Joseph Celis, National Police Commission-Western Visayas director, said he received the order from the Napolcom main office on Monday.

“Dueñas was relieved for failing to curb illegal drugs in Iloilo City even though he is the intelligence officer,” Celis said.

Celis said Dueñas also has alleged ties with the Odicta family, whose patriarch is Western Visayas’ top drug personality.

Melvin Odicta Sr. and his wife Meriam were slain in an anti-drug operation at the Caticlan Jetty Port in Malay, Aklan in 2016.

Condag also has alleged links with the Odictas, who were his former neighbors.
