8 dead in road mishaps in Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — Eight persons, five of them motorcycle riders, died in road accidents in Camarines Norte, Ilocos Norte and Isabela on Monday. 

Ricosan Hagad, 29, was driving his motorcycle with Lilibeth Bayog, 39, Danielle Mendrique, 8, and Rica Mae Hagad, 2, on their way home when it collided with a dump truck in Barangay Bagong Silang, Labo, Camarines Norte at about 1:30 p.m.. 

Rica Mae died at the scene while the other victims were pronounced dead on arrival at the Camarines Norte District Hospital.

The driver of the dump truck, Norben Doctor, 45, was arrested.

Jerry Sacramento, 43, rammed his motorcycle on a tree along the highway in Barangay Barcelona, Solsona, Ilocos Norte.

In Isabela, Rogelio Enriquez was driving his tricycle with Martin Juan and his wife Alejandra when their vehicle collided with a truck along the highway in Barangay Magsaysay, Cabatuan.

The couple had just attended a town fiesta and were on their way home to Barangay Diamantina when the accident occurred.
