7 trapped in mine collapse

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – At least seven persons were trapped when a mine pit collapsed in Aroroy, Masbate yesterday morning.

Senior Inspector Malou Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, identified the victims as Marison Manlapas, 30; John Philip Gredo, 28; Aljun Balbuena, 19; Gary Arninang, 30; Kevin Balbuena, 24; Marlon Manlapas, 28, and Emart Manalapas, 21.

Calubaquib said members of the barangay disaster risk reduction and management council of Barangay Panique are conducting rescue operations.
