BUTUAN CITY, Philippines  – The chief of police of Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte and his 43 men have been relieved from their posts over unresolved killings.

Senior Superintendent Ernesto Tendero, Agusan del Norte police director, said he was dissatisfied with the performance of the police force in handling the investigations.

Chief Inspector Glenn Sampaga would replace Senior Superintendent Reynaldo Acosta as city police chief.

Unidentified motorcycle-riding men killed 25 persons in the city from July 11, 2016 to April 18. Most of the cases were reportedly drug-related.
