8 wounded in Sultan Kudarat bomb blast

TACURONG CITY, Philippines – Eight persons were wounded in an explosion in this city yesterday morning. 

Janice Alcanado, Janno Buendicho, Kenneth John Carumba, Larry Daniel, Arnold Pamplona, Edison Escoltero, Rommel Calnazo and Jonel Alya were standing in front of the Sultan Kudarat Electric Cooperative when the improvised explosive device (IED) went off. They were taken to various hospitals for treatment. 

Probers have yet to identify the motorcycle-riding men who planted the IED. 

Members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters are believed to be responsible for the attack. 

The explosion was the eighth in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao since last week. 

Sgt. Abraham Aduh, Pvt. First Class Ernie Cabrera and Cpl. Michael Madazza were wounded in an explosion in Mamasapano, Maguindanao on Friday.
