2 arrested for illegal recruitment

MANGALDAN, Pangasinan , Philippines  – Two persons were arrested in this town for illegal recruitment.

Richard Dy, 43, alias Richard Uy, a resident of Sta. Cruz, Manila, and Rosalinda Soquila, 47, of Barangay Banaoang East here were collared based on warrants issued by Dagupan City Regional Trial Court Judges Genoveva Maramba and Emma Torio.  No bail was recommended.

Superintendent Jeff Fanged, town police chief, said the suspects are being held at the police station. He said the suspects had victimized around 70 people here and in nearby towns.

The victims reportedly paid between P15,000 to P95,000 for the supposed processing of their documents and other requirements to be able to work in Taiwan.
